Welcome to my website. It's a very personal site because it's a result of a need that was growing inside me for some time already. A need to share my knowledge and experience about autohypnosis for childbirth. I hope that I can pay back at least a part of the gift that I received - a gift of beatiful and gentle births.

 

Word DOULA comes from greek and exactly means "to serve". DOULAs are experienced women (also in their own motherhood) that are giving support to other women in their perinatal period and birth itself. It's a continues, nonmedical, emotional, phisical and information support.

Studies show that presence of DOULA during birth has following influence:

 

- Birth is shorter (avarage 96 min less.)

 

- The risk of medicated birth or birth that ends with C- section disminishes (according to newst studies even by 80%!)

 

- Birthing women is coping better with birth waves, has less need for use of epidural

 

- The bond and cooperation between woman and her partner is better and stronger

 

- Birthing women feels more competent as a mother

 

- There are less problems with breastfeeding

Although DOULA's  gain popularity relatively recently, they are filling the gap that was created by the disappearance of multiplegenerations families in our society. Like once our mothers, grandmothers, neighbor girlfriends were giving the support to pregnant and birthing women, now DOULAs do everything so that the womens circle will show it's rue power.
